Rules and Regulations

The following are offenses against the fundamental rules of Phillips Exeter Academy and may be grounds for dismissal from the program:

  • Possession, transporting, or use of illegal drugs, including marijuana. The Academy assumes no responsibility for students who flagrantly violate Spanish laws and customs, particularly those related to the possession and use of illegal drugs.
  • Any conduct unbecoming of a participant visiting in a foreign country, such as public drunkenness, open disrespect for the country's laws, customs and traditions.
  • Refusal to comply with the routine set forth by the program director regarding attendance of classes, public behavior, and cooperation with the host Spanish family.
  • Leaving the program without the expressed written permission of the accompanying Exeter director.
