The Robotic Dome

The Robotic domes houses a Celestron 14" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with an attached SBIG ST-9e CCD imager. Both are attached to an Astro-physics 1200 mount. Also attached to the telescope is a remote focuser and an SBIG CFW-8 filter wheel with photometric filters. The entire assembly is controlled via software and can easily be done remotely via the net. This allows students the ability to handle long observing runs on any number of faint objects. Such studies include: variable star observing, supernova hunting, and deep sky imaging.
