Standardized Testing

As part of the college process, students will take a series of standardized tests, including the PSAT, SAT I, SAT II, ACT, AP and/or TOEFL.  For help sorting through the various testing options appropriate for you, please read Chapter One in the College Counseling Office Guidebook  


SAT I & II - Both the SAT I & II are offered at Exeter High School; transportation is provided by school bus.  Students register online at College Board.  Test dates and registration deadlines are available online, as well.

PSAT - The PSAT is offered at Exeter High School; transportation is provided by school bus.  Uppers will be automatically registered for the test and $20 will be charged to each student's account.  (Students who meet fee waiver eligibility guidelines will not be charged.)  Lowers and/or preps who wish to test will receive registration information from the College Counseling Office at the commence of the school year.  The national test date and related information is available online at College Board.

 

ACT Assessment - The ACT is not offered in the town of Exeter.  Transportation is provided to/from area high schools for the October test and the December test.  Students may register online at ACT.  Test dates and deadlines are available online, as well.

Test Preparation - A number of resources are available to students as they prepare for the SAT and ACT and we encourage all students to develop a plan for independent test preparation and practice.

Fee Waivers - Fee waivers are allocated based on standards set forth by College Board, utilizing the U.S. Department of Agriculture Income Eligibility Guidelines.  Please see your college counselor for more information.

Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) - Students with a diagnosed learning difference should contact Jane Cadwell, Dean of Academic Affairs, to discuss testing accommodations on the PSAT, SAT, AP and/or ACT exams.  Guidelines for documentation are available online.
