Visit to Mexico City
Here in Cuernavaca the people say 'México' rather than D.F. Cuernavaca is a very popular weekend destination for Chilangos, a person from Mexico City. Cuernavaca is a tranquil place and good for everyone. Yesterday (Feb. 8th) we went to Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. We went to various places. We arrived at the San Juan market and we tried different types of Mexican fruits like papayas and guayabas. We drank many smoothies with all different types of fruit. Also, there was a meat shop where we saw the different ways to prepare meat. After, we walked to the Museum of Popular Art. It was very pretty with the open hallways and a high ceiling. Inside of the museum, there were big piñatas and in every level there were exhibits of the faith. At this exhibition there was a section with many skeletons and skulls, which have great signification in the Mexican culture. Then we went to a restaurant called Sanborns where many of us ordered the favorite drink: lemonade. Here in Mexico "limonada" means limeade. A little bit later, on our way to the Zócalo, we bought ice cream from a famous place called Santa Clara since it was very hot in the middle of the day. When we finished our ice creams, we went into the cathedral, and finally we went to the museum of Anthropology to finish our trip to Mexico city.

Visita a la Ciudad de Mexico
Aquí en Cuernavaca no es como en otras partes del país, la gente dice México en vez de D.F. (Distrito Federal). Cuernavaca es muy popular para los 'chilangos' (una persona del D.F.) durante los fines de semana. Cuernavaca es un lugar tranquilo y apacible para ellos. Ayer (8 de febrero) fuimos al D.F., la capital de México. Fuimos a varios lugares. Llegamos al mercado de San Juan y pudimos probar diferentes frutas mexicanas como guayabas y papayas. Bebemos licuados de cada tipo de fruta. También había una carnicería donde vimos las diferentes maneras de preparar carne. Después caminamos al museo del Arte Popular. Era muy bonito con los pasillos abiertos y un techo muy alto. Dentro del museo había piñatas muy grandes y en cada nivel había dos exhibiciones como una de la fe. En esta exhibición había una sección con muchos esqueletos y calaveras, las cuales tienen gran significación en la cultura mexicana. Después del Arte popular, fuimos al museo de Bellas Artes. Había muchos murales famosos de Diego Rivera que ilustraban la vida mexicana. Después fuimos al restaurante Sanborns donde muchos pidieron la bebida favorita: Limonada. Aquí en México Limonada significa " limeade". Un poquito más tarde, de camino al Zócalo, compramos helado de un famoso lugar " Santa Clara" porque hacía mucho calor durante el medio día. Cuando terminamos nuestros helados, entramos a la Catedral, y finalmente fuimos al museo de Antropología para terminar nuestro viaje a la ciudad de México.
