3-Year Students
Arts: Two term credits from among art, music or drama. One term must be in a studio or performance course.
Classical and Modern Languages: Seven term credits in the same language, or pass Language 330 or its equivalent.
English: Eight term credits in the regular English sequence: English 210/220/230; 310/320/330; 410/420.
Health and Human Development: One term credit, earned by taking the course throughout the Lower year. (See special note on the Health and Human Development department pages.)
History: Five term credits. Three term credits of U.S. history and two term credits of non-U.S. history, at least one of which comes from the following list: 100, 101, 111, 131, 162, 163, 270, 402, 436, 445, 446, 463, 465, 467, 477 and 486.
Mathematics: Seven term credits, or pass a mathematics course numbered 330 or higher.
Physical Education: Seven terms. Students may elect to take either two or three terms of athletics in each of the Upper and Senior years.
Religion: One term credit.
Science: Five term credits.
For students who have not satisfactorily completed a full-year laboratory course in biology, chemistry, or physics in the ninth grade: three term credits of either biology 210/220/230 or three term credits of physical science (chemistry 210/220/230 or chemistry 319/329/339 or physics 200-level series), and two term credits of the other.
For students who have satisfactorily completed a full year of chemistry or physics in the ninth grade: three term credits of biology 210/220/230, and two term credits of the physical sciences.
For students who have satisfactorily completed a full year of biology in the ninth grade: three term credits of either chemistry 210/220/230, chemistry 319/329/339 or of the physics 200-level series, and two additional terms of either biological or physical science.
