Sustainability at Exeter
Many people associate sustainability with environmental issues, but it begins with a much broader and far-reaching question: How can we meet our present needs without jeopardizing opportunities for future generations to meet theirs?
Sustainability embraces not only the natural world, but also economic development, food production, energy and social organization. Campus sustainability means acting with the long term in mind, in our classrooms and in our institutional practices.
Exeter is committed to addressing sustainability in all aspects of school life. The aim is to make sustainable behavior as much a part of “the Exeter way” as greeting one another on the school paths or offering a wave of thanks to drivers who stop for us at crossings.
Exeter has made great strides towards making the school culture more sustainable. We want to do still more, because that’s the Exeter way.
