MVPs Named at Spring Athletic Assembly

Exeter Girls Track: 2007 New England Champions
A successful spring season was acknowledged during a lively Athletic Assembly this week. Four varsity teams—Girls Water Polo, Girls Track, Girls Crew and the Cycling team—secured 2007 New England Championships. In addition, Girls Crew's stunning 0.23-second victory over second-place Andover earned Exeter an automatic invitation to the U.S. Junior National Championship Regatta in Cincinnati June 9-11.
Special Spring Athletic Trophies were awarded to the following students:
The Dana J.P. Wingate Memorial Baseball Trophy, 2007, for excellence on the diamond: Michael J. Doherty
The Most Valuable Member of the Softball Team, 2007: Isys M. Johnson
The Charles M. Swift Coaches Trophy, 2007, awarded annually to that senior who in spirit and action has done most to enhance the traditions of Boys Rowing at Exeter: Matthew W. Filla
The E. Chandler Sanborn Trophy, 2007, awarded annually to that senior who in spirit and action has done most to enhance the tradition of Girls Rowing at Exeter: Jessica L. Flakne
The Joseph T. Gifford Memorial Lacrosse Trophy, 2007, Most Valuable Player Award: Yuri C. Larrabee
The Class of 1947 Robert W. Kesler '47 (Hon.) Boys' Lacrosse Award, 2007: George D. Negroponte
The Holleran Family Girls Lacrosse Most Valuable Player Award, 2007, awarded annually to that player who best embodies leadership, team spirit and excellence in performance: Ingrid K. Oelschlager & Amanda R. Roberts
