Pianist Gabriel Chodos

Exeter, NH (November 6, 2007)—On Tuesday, November 13, 7:00 p.m., Phillips Exeter Academy will present a concert by international pianist Gabriel Chodos, who will perform in Phillips Church, located on the corner of Front Street and Tan Lane. The concert is free and open to the public.

Gabriel Chodos has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Israel and Japan. He has performed as a soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Aspen Chamber, the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra of Holland, and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. He has recorded for Fleur de Son, Japan Victor, Centaur, CRI and Orion.

Early in his career, Chodos received national recognition as a Fulbright scholar and a prizewinner in both the Concert Artists Guild auditions and the Michaels competition. More recently, he has been awarded Martha Baird Rockefeller grants and a Solo Recitalist grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Chodos has performed at Alice Tully Hall, the 92nd Street Y, Symphony Hall, Merkin Hall and the Library of Congress. He has given master classes at the Chautauqua Festival, the Rutgers Summerfest, the Hochschule für Musik in Leipzig, Toho Conservatory, and Kunitachi Music University. His performances of works by Schubert, Chopin, and Brahms have been broadcast nationwide by National Public Radio.

This year’s performance will include Schubert’s The Last Three Sonatas. The evening’s program:
