On Harkness teaching: “I enjoy not knowing for sure what is going to happen or what the students might say.”

Word on the street: “I am tough but fair.”

Advice? “Ask questions and never be afraid to say you don’t know.”

Other hats:  He has been assistant coach to the girls varsity basketball team. “Coaching allows me to know the kids and the kids to get to know me in a different way in a different environment.”

Kim currently serves as associate dean of faculty recruitment. "There are great teachers out there who would love to consider teaching at Exeter. My job is to help them learn about us and what we do." He finds his work with teaching interns "fun and refreshing because I get to think about teaching from the perspective of the newest and youngest instructors. I am reminded of the excitement of being a new teacher at Exeter."
