Interests and Activities:
This year, I'm acting in a mainstage play, Arcadia; writing and directing a play for DRAMAT; co-head and founder of Improv Club and its associated community service program, ImproVISION; co-head of Varsity Writing Club; founder and co-head of the "Telling Their Stories" project, a community service program; a student TECH; and a member of the Chess Club. I also take classical voice lessons.
Why I Chose Exeter and What I Like About It:
The one thing that stood out most about Exeter's brochure and philosophy was the idea that it was "safe to be smart". I loved the idea of throwing myself into a place where being "smart" and passionate would be not only tolerated, but embraced. In my time at Exeter, both in and out of the classroom, I have found exactly that. Since I arrived, I have not once doubted my decision to come here. I have never learned more in any of my classes (I even enjoy math, a subject I once hated) and I have never had such amazing, interesting friends. One of my first nights here, a group of friends and I sat in the chair loft in Fisher Theater talking about everything from philosophy to chess to which dining hall was better (for the record, the answer is Wetherell) with equal enthusiasm. Moments like these have occurred every day at Exeter, and I have never been happier.
