Neighboring features work from our neighbors—artists and craftspeople living in Rockingham County. The word ‘neighboring’ is an active one: it is an invitation to meet, to talk, and to linger in the local: to become aware of the rich resources around us, and to see how we participate in ways small and large in building diverse and thriving communities.

Through drawing, painting, fiber arts, photography, and mixed media, Neighboring explores themes of locality, proximity, distance, self/other, the built environment, and the natural world.

Ongoing Special Programs and Events:

Throughout the duration of the exhibition, you are welcome to drop by for the artwork and also for the “everything else” of what it means to be actively engaged in a community.

Enjoy your lunch at one of our bistro tables, participate in ongoing art activities such as our "How Does Your Garden Grow” chalk mural or our “Paper Houses: Building Communities” workshop table. Sign up for our Artists’ Talk Luncheon or our Pinwheel Workshop.

You can view images from this exhibition on our Flickr page.
