Early in the second half Frank Yu was cut down from behind just outside the eighteen, resulting in a direct kick. On the re-start, Eric Slingerland passed the ball to Josh Howard who placed a shot into the corner of the net. Later in the half, Eric Slingerland played a beautiful ball over the defense. Frank Yu ran onto the ball and struck a beautiful volley for the second goal of the game. Cam Chaput, Andy Maruca, Tom MacIntire, Brendan Cosgrove, and Max Cassidy all played strong defensive games. Goalkeeper Andy Goessling played well in net, recording his first shutout of the season.

Exeter created several scoring chances in the first 25 minutes but wasn't able to convert on any of the opportunities. Holderness played tough and created a couple scoring chances of their own in the first half. Goalkeeper Andy Goessling made a terrific diving deflection of a ball that was headed into the corner of the net late in the first half. With 8 minutes to play in the second half, Eric Slingerland took possession of a loose ball at the 30, dribbled past two defenders to create space, and launched a rocket into the upper corner of the net. Seniors Josh Howard and Cam Chaput, and Upper Greg Attamian played excellent games against a competitive Holderness group. For the second game in the row, the team earned a shutout.

With twenty minutes to play in the first half , Eric Slingerland found the net for Exeter's lone goal of the game. Choate scored early in the second half after a shot hit the post, was deflected after a save by goaltender Andy Goessling and then placed in the back of the net by an opportunistic Choate player. Later in the half, Choate managed to split the defense and score the game winner. Despite possessing and moving the ball well, Exeter was not able to generate many real scoring chances in the second half.

Prep Ty Williams made a terrific pass to a slashing Josh Howard who pushed it past the goalkeeper for Exeter's lone goal. Exeter threatened several times in the first half but was unable to capitalize. Exeter played beautifully for the first 15 minutes of the second half, possessing and generating two excellent scoring chances. Brewster picked up their game and played well in the final 30 minutes, causing Exeter to scramble until the closing minute. Exeter goalkeeper Andy Goessling made a nice save with about 10 minutes to play to preserve the win.
