2007-2008 Girls Varsity Ice Hockey

The Big Red came out strong in their first game of the season with a 5-0 home win over Hebron. Early in the first period, Lauren Greer '09 caused a turnover in front of the Hebron net and newcomer, Cristina Bravi '10 found the net from an off angled shot. Bravi continued to add points with her second goal on a power play at 10:05 in the first.  Exeter finished out the period with a 3-0 lead on an unassisted goal from captain defenseman Madison Gilmore '08.  Madison fired a wrist shot from the blue-line and beat the Hebron goaltender's high glove. 
Exeter's domination continued in the second period with Gilmore's second goal and an assist by forward Cara Jankowski '11 to give Exeter a 4-0 lead. Exeter's final goal came in the third period off of a beautiful pass in front by Lauren Greer for the one-timer by Katie Sullivan '11.  
Exeter's defense did not allow Hebron to produce much offensively and goaltender Lisa Marshall '10 earned a shutout in her first start for the Big Red.

Exeter dropped to 1-1 this past weekend as they fell to Choate 6-0. After enduring the three hour bus ride there, the Exeter girls jumped on the ice to find a very strong Choate team. Exeter was caught by surprise when Choate scored their first goal within the first minute of the game. Choate did not wait very long to add to their lead and scored again, this time on a 5 on 3 power play with eleven minutes remaining in the first period.  Exeter was able to stop Choate's offense until the end of the period,when Choate scored again with three minutes remaining .
 Exeter's goal for the second period was to create some offense as they had finished the first period without any shots. They started the second period strong and challenged Choate much more than in the first. Unfortunately, a defensive miscue put Choate up 4-0; but the Exeter girls never gave up. Allowing one more goal in the second and another in the third gave Choate a 6-0 victory. Although they lost, Exeter seemed to get better with every period and the Big Red plan on putting this game behind them as they look forward to their game against Milton on Wednesday the 5th.

Exeter bounced back well from last Saturday's loss to Choate, with a 5-1 win over Milton. Just 31 seconds into the game, Katie Sullivan '11 knocked in a centering pass from Lauren Greer '09.  Exeter seemed to back down until the four minute mark. Madison Gilmore started with the puck deep in the defensive zone; her pass to Greer resulted in a give-n-go with Sullivan and finished with Lauren's first goal of the season. The first period scoring ended with an excellent short-handed goal; Christina Bravi '10 blocked a shot in the defensive zone and was off on a partial breakaway. Her hustle and determination in the neutral zone were too much for the defender as she brought the puck to the middle of the ice to ensure a clean breakaway, and tucked the puck behind Milton's goaltender.  
Going into the second period up 3-0, Exeter wanted to put the game out of reach for Milton. They did just that by scoring their second short-hand goal of the game. With 9:40 remaining in the second period, Keely Covo '08 scored an unassisted goal from the corner. Exeter had Milton on their heels until Milton called a time-out and 30 seconds later scored a goal on a scramble in front of the net. Lisa Marshall held strong as Milton quickly put five shots on goal in a matter of two minutes. 
Exeter finished out the scoring in the third period with a Greer "tip-in" goal on a shot from Chelsea Brewer '10.  Exeter goaltenders Lisa Marshall '10 and Lydia Bolander '08 held Milton to one goal while making a combined 18 saves in the game. A  very positive aspect of the game came from Exeter's penalty kill, as they successfully killed off six penalties.  Exeter is hoping to continue on this path on Saturday as they play a very tough Cushing team at home.

Exeter had their best showing so far this season as they beat a very competitive Cushing team  2-1 and improved their record to 3-1. Exeter played with heart and determination as they wanted to avenge last year's 3-2 loss.
Immediately off the face-off, Exeter took control of the puck and quickly got a shot on net. About a minute later, forward Lauren Greer '09 capitalized on the power play.   Greer's first goal of the game started with Katie Sullivan's '11 pass to defenseman Allison Franklin '09 at the point. Franklin's slap shot was tipped-in by Greer for the first goal of the game at the 13:22 minute mark. Exeter kept the pressure on Cushing and again executed on another power play. Their second goal came with two minutes left in the period when Shannon O'Reilly's shot from the point went wide. The puck went behind the net and popped out front where Greer was waiting to stuff it in behind the Cushing goalie for a 2-0 lead. Cushing cut Exeter's lead in half with 20 seconds remaining in the first period. Cushing scored on a scramble in front of the net just before Exeter's penalty had expired.
Exeter went into the second period trying not to let Cushings last-minute goal change the momentum of the game. Exeter skated hard, but only put four shots on the Cushing goal. Cushing maintained possession of the puck for most of the period, but Marshall continued to make save after save and frustrated the Penguins. She stopped all sixteen shots in the second period.
An exhausted Exeter team continued to give it their all in the third. They dumped the puck and tried to get it out of the defensive zone as Cushing again began to set up camp in Exeter's defensive zone. Positive encouragement and a team effort allowed Exeter to hold on to their lead. Lisa Marshall ended the afternoon with 41 saves on 42 shots, as she improves to 3-1 this season. Exeter hopes to bring the same intensity and drive to their home game against Kent Hill on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

Exeter won its third straight game as the team beat Kents Hill 5-1. Exeter started the scoring in the middle of the first period with an unassisted power play goal by forward Cristina Bravi ’10. Bravi's goal came after she picked the puck up in the corner and skated to the middle hash marks and fired a shot passed the Kents Hill goaltender. Lisa Marshall '10 kept Exeter in the game with many key saves, which helped Exeter begin to pick up their game as the first period ended.

Exeter put the game away in the second by scoring three goals. Exeter’s first goal of the second period came with 8:55 left when forward Lauren Greer ’09 took a pass from Bravi and put it through the legs of the Kents Hill goalie. About two minutes later, Katie Sullivan ’11 hit two posts in the process of scoring an unassisted power play goal. Exeter’s second period scoring ended at 1:39 when Greer scored her second goal on a centering pass from Sullivan.
Kents Hill jumped onto the scoreboard early in the third period, but Exeter came back quickly with a goal just a minute later by Keely Covo ‘08, with the assist going to Cara Jankowski ’11. Covo’s goal gave the game its final 5-1 score. Exeter goaltender Lisa Marshall stopped 15 of 16 shots. This win put Exeter’s record to 4-1.

Exeter 0 Westminster 3
Exeter lost their first game of the Westminster Invitational to the host team on Friday night. Just before taking the three hour drive down to Westminster on Friday, the team found out that the tournament schedule had been changed because a projected snowstorm on Sunday, and that they would have to play a game that night.
Exeter and Westminster played an even first period. Westminster did have more scoring chances, but Exeter’s defense stepped up and kept Westminster out of the net. Going into the second period, Exeter wanted to create more scoring chances and to challenge the Westminster goaltender with more shots. They did just that and dominated the second period but Exeter could not find a way into the back of the Westminster net.
Both teams went into the third period with the determination to get on the board first. Unfortunately for Exeter, an own goal at the twelve minute mark put Westminster up 1-0. Exactly six minutes later, Westminster scored a power play goal. In an attempt to come back and make up the two goal deficit, Exeter pulled their goaltender, Lisa Marshall ‘10 for an extra skater with two minutes left in the game. Westminster sealed their win about 40 seconds later as they scored an empty netter.
Marshall stopped 27 of 30 shots and Exeter dropped to 4-2. Exeter knew they would have to quickly recover from this loss as they had a game the next morning against the Kent School.

Exeter 4 Kent 0
Exeter defeated the Kent School to even out their tournament record to 1-1 and to improve their regular record to 5-2. The game remained even and scoreless until the last minute of the second period when Exeter put up their first goal with 42 seconds left in the second. Lauren Greer ’09 caused a turnover in the corner and skated the puck around to the front of the net where she shot the puck through the legs of Kent’s goaltender.
Going into the third period, Exeter wanted to protect their lead and score a few more goals. Greer scored her second goal at 12:21 in the third when she intercepted a Kent pass in front of the net and put the puck over the shoulder of the Kent goaltender for a 2-0 Exeter lead. Four minutes later, Greer got her third goal. Defenseman Madison Gilmore ’08 took a shot from the point, with the rebound going to forward Cristina Bravi ’10. Bravi’s shot produced a rebound that Greer put in for the 3-0 Exeter lead. Exeter’s fourth and final goal came with 4:12 remaining in the third from forward Keely Covo ’08. Covo battled for the puck at the hash marks and after the Kent goalie thought the puck went into the corner, Covo placed the puck in the net.
 Exeter goaltender Lisa Marshall ’10 earned the shutout on fourteen shots. As Exeter goes on winter break, they do not play again until Saturday January 5th when they play the Pre-Prep team.

Exeter came back from winter break with a 5-1 win over the Pre-Prep team. Lauren Greer '09 gave Exeter a 1-0 lead when she knocked in a pass from Rebecca Snelling '08 at 8:32 in the first period. The pre-preps took over the momentum shortly after and scored a shorthanded goal less than a minute later. After calling a timeout, Exeter picked up their play but the period ended with a 1-1 score.

Exeter jumped out to score two quick goals within the first two minutes of the second period. At 14:09, Cristina Bravi '10 picked up a pass off the boards from Greer and put it past the pre-prep goal for Exeter's second goal. Just 53 seconds later, Keely Covo '08 scored on a centering pass from Cara Jankowski '11.

Exeter continued their domination in the third period where they picked up two more goals to give the game its final 5-1 score. At 12:21, Greer tipped-in a Shannon O'Reilly '10 shot from the point. About five minutes later, Katie Sullivan '11 skated into the offensive zone with the puck, went behind the net and came back out in front to score Exeter's final goal. Lisa Marshall '10, Lydia Bolander '08, and Kat Pettengill '09 combined to stop 9 of 10 shots for Exeter.

Exeter put together a big 6-3 road win over Buckingham Browne & Nichols on Wednesday as Bravi and Greer both recorded natural hat tricks.  Cristina Bravi '10 came up big for Exeter in the first period with her natural hat trick. Bravi's first goal came at 6:43. Bravi received a pass from Kate Cunningham '09, then skated through two BB&N players, and made a tuck move to put the puck past the BB&N goalie.  Just 28 seconds later, Bravi got her second goal, this time assisted by Lauren Greer '09. Bravi connected once again at 4:17 by putting in a rebound off of Greer's shot, giving Greer her second assist of the period. Exeter seemed in control of the game until 2:45 when BB&N scored their first goal. 
The second period did not go well for Exeter as BB&N kept the momentum and tied the game with two goals at 13:11 and 7:58. Exeter proved their determination as they scored to take the lead late in the period. Sullivan '11 passed to Lauren Greer in the high slot and Greer slipped it past the goalie for her first goal of the game. 
It was Exeter who kept the momentum in the third as they tacked on two more goals and out-shot BB&N 13 to 3 in the period. The first goal came at 10:53 when Greer knocked in the puck after a scramble in front. Sullivan and  Gilmore '08 were given assists on Greer's goal.  Greer's third goal, assisted by Bravi, with 1:11 remaining in the game, made the final score 6-3 with yet another natural hat trick. Lisa Marshall stopped 9 of 12 for Exeter.

After 45 minutes of regulation and five minutes of overtime, Exeter and Deerfield left the ice with a 1-1 tie. Exeter's lone goal of the game came from forward Cara Jankowski '11 at 6:54 in the first on a 5 on 3 power play. After receiving a pass from Kate Cunnningham '09, Keely Covo '08 sent a pass to Jankowski at the red line. Jankowski caught Deerfield in a change, and skated across and down the ice to the top of the circles, where her low shot to the corner of the goal gave Exeter a 1-0 lead. Exeter continued to control the first period, out-shooting Deerfield 8 to 2, but they were unable to put the puck past the Deerfield goaltender.
Deerfield came out strong in the second period and kept Exeter on their heels. Deerfield had 10 shots to Exeter's 2. Even with all of Deerfield's pressure, Exeter's defense, consisting of Madison Gilmore '08, Rebecca Snelling '08, Shannon O'Reilly '10, Allison Franklin '09, and goaltender Lisa Marshall '10, kept Deerfield out of the net.
At the start of the third period, the score was still 1-0 in favor of Exeter and it looked as if the game might end with that score as Exeter managed to keep Deerfield from scoring. But Deerfield did not sit back and watch Exeter come away with the win. Deerfield's mounting pressure eventually led to a goal with 3:32 left in regulation. Both teams picked up their play in the final three minutes of the game but neither came away with a goal.
The 1-1 regulation tie led to a five-minute, sudden-death overtime. The play went back and forth throughout the extra time but neither team was able to score, therefore ending the game with a 1-1 tie. Exeter's best scoring chance of the OT came when a Katie Sullivan shot from just in front of the goal was blocked by the skate of the Deerfield goaltender. In the tie, Marshall stopped 21 of 22 Deerfield shots and Exeter moved their record to 7-2-1.

Exeter suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss on Wednesday to Holderness. Although the game remained tied until the third period, Holderness had an edge over Exeter for most of the game. They won most of the 50-50 pucks and their outdoor rink proved a challenge for Exeter. Holderness scored their goal on a 2 on 1 break with 6:12 left in the game. Exeter picked up the intensity after Holderness's goal, and their best chance of the afternoon came on a penalty shot that the Holderness goaltender made an outstanding glove save on. Exeter goaltender, Kat Pettengill '09, stopped 12 of 13, and Exeter put 22 shots on Holderness. This loss drops Exeter to 7-3-1.

Exeter dropped their second straight game on Saturday, 2-0, against Nobles. Although Exeter lost, they stepped up their play against a very strong opponent. Exeter's second and third period performance was their best since winter break; and after a subpar first period, they out-shot Nobles 13-10 in the last two periods (18-17 in the game). Their last two periods were filled with excellent scoring chances and a few near goals; but Exeter continued to have trouble finishing plays and coming away with a goal. 

Nobles' first goal came on a power play at 10:32; a defensive break down led to Nobles' second goal five minutes later. Exeter came out strong in the second period and did not allow Nobles to create much offense. The sudden shutting down of Nobles' offense can be attributed to Exeter's switch of their system in the defensive zone. The play went back and forth until the end of the game when it looked like Exeter might come up with at least one goal. Unfortunately for Exeter, they were not able to find the back of the net, and the game ended with a 2-0 score in favor of Nobles.

Lisa Marshall '10 had fifteen saves for Exeter as they dropped to 7-4-1. Exeter is hoping to bring their end-of-the-game intensity to Wednesday's 2:30 home game against Tilton.

Exeter snapped a two game losing streak as they beat Tilton 5-1 at home on Wednesday. Exeter dominated the whole game and outshot Tilton 58 to 15. Exeter was able to take advantage of Tilton's penalty trouble as they scored three power play goals.
 Exeter's first goal came on a power play with 3:04 left in the first period. They were finally able to put the puck past the Tilton goaltender, who stopped 27 of 28 first period shots, when Lauren Greer '09 put the puck through the goaltender's legs with assists going to Cara Jankowski '11 and Cristina Bravi '10. Unfortunately their 1-0 lead didn't last very long as Tilton scored just a minute later.

 Exeter went into the second period hoping to capitalize on their many opportunities and they did as they scored three more goals to boost their lead to 4-1. Katie Sullivan '11 scored Exeter's second goal with Kate Cunningham '09 and Keely Covo '08 getting assists. Two Tilton players receiving penalties at the same time seemed to spark Exeter's offense as they scored two goals on the power play. The first one came on a Rebecca Snelling '08 shot from the point on the 5 on 3. Cunningham and Covo each got their second assists of the game on the goal. Exeter followed up with another goal on the 5 on 4 just 30 seconds later when Covo got her first goal of the game and Cunningham was given her third assist.

 Exeter finished up the scoring in the third period on a beautiful goal by Jankowski.  Greer, after receiving a pass from Bravi, sent a pass across the front of the goal to Jankowski at the far post. Jankowski's one-timer gave the game its final 5-1 score.
 Kat Pettengill '09 stopped 6 of 7 and Lydia Bolander '08 stopped 8 of 8 in the win that improved Exeter's record to 8-4-1.

Exeter fell 5-1 on Saturday at home to very good Berkshire team. Exeter played well and held a 1-0 lead in the second period, but penalty trouble in the second and third periods seemingly led to Berkshire's win.
 The game went into the second period 0-0 after an even first period and some excellent saves by Exeter goaltender Lisa Marshall '10. The first goal of the game and Exeter's lone goal came from Lauren Greer '09 who one-timed a shot past the Berkshire goaltender. It was Cara Jankowski '11 who sent Greer the centering pass after skating down the right side of the ice through many Berkshire players.
 Exeter's lead did not last very long as two minutes later Berkshire scored their first goal on the power play to even the score to 1-1. The game went into the third with a 2-1 Berkshire lead as they scored their second goal with 2 minutes left in the second period. Berkshire continued to dominate the score board as they scored three unanswered goals in the third period, one on the power play and one just five seconds after an Exeter penalty had expired.
 Exeter's best chance in the third period came around the six minute mark when Exeter was given a 5 on 3 power play. Exeter was unable to capitalize on the opportunity and the game ended with a 5-1 win for Berkshire. Marshall stopped 30 of 35 and Exeter dropped to 8-5-1.

Exeter stepped up their play on Wednesday as they beat rival Andover 2-0. It was two Cara Jankowski '11 second period goals and a shutout by Lisa Marshall '10 that gave Exeter their win. Exeter outshot Andover 36 to 17 and unlike their opponent, they were able to stay out of the box.
 Jankowski's first goal came at 13:25 of the second period after a subpar first period. The power play goal was put in off a rebound by Jankowski, with assists going to Lauren Greer '09 and Alison Franklin '09. Jankowski waited a mere four minutes before scoring her second goal on a low shot from the hash marks. It was a Cristina Bravi '10 pass to Jankowski that made the goal possible.
 Exeter was able to continue dominating the play through the end of the third period and did not allow Andover many scoring opportunities. Exeter's discipline, determination, and smart play enabled them to beat Andover and improve their record to 9-4-1.

Exeter won their second straight game on Friday as they beat Thayer 5-2. Lauren Greer '09 and Cristina Bravi '10 each had two goals, and goaltenders Kat Pettengill '09 and Lydia Bolander '08 stopped 29 of 31 shots.
 Exeter started the first period strong with Bravi's first goal coming 7 minutes into the game. Bravi's goal was a breakaway resulting from a Cara Jankowski '11 deflection of an attempted D-to-D pass between the Thayer defensemen in Exeter's defensive zone. Exeter seemed to slow down after Bravi's goal and although they went into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead, they had also been outshot 14-10 in the period.
 The play was even in the second period as no goals were recorded until two minutes remained in the period when Thayer scored their first goal on a 2 on 1. Greer answered back just 30 seconds later with her first goal, a rebound on a Bravi shot. The second period ended without any more scoring and with each team getting an even 11 shots.
 The third period did not start off well for Exeter as Thayer tied up the game half way through the period. Exeter picked up their intensity after the Thayer goal and Bravi's second goal at 4:25, assisted by Jankowski, seemed to light a spark under Exeter as they played even harder for the last four and a half minutes of the period. Katie Sullivan '11 lifted Exeter even higher just 13 seconds after Bravi's goal when her wrist shot from the top of the circles went into the top corner of the net. Keely Covo '08 got the assist on Sullivan's goal. Greer finished the scoring with 1:27 left in the game when she scored an empty netter to seal the win for Exeter and improve their record to 10-5-1.

Exeter won their third straight game on Wednesday as the defeated KUA 4-2.  Lauren Greer '09 led the way with her third hat trick of the year and Cristina Bravi '10 added one goal and two assists.
Exeter did not start off the game well as the home team jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 5 minutes into the game. Exeter picked up their play, and Greer tied the game up five minutes later with assists going to Katie Sullivan '11 and Rebecca Snelling '08. The first period ended 1-1 but Exeter dominated the shot count, outshooting KUA 16 to 5.
Exeter managed to score two goals in the second and take the lead for good. The first goal of the period came from Bravi with Sullivan getting her second assist. Three minutes later, at 10:54, Greer got her second goal of the game on a very nice flip into the top corner past the KUA goaltender. Sullivan was given her third assist and Bravi her first. KUA never gave up in the period and cut the deficit in half with a power play goal at 1:38.
Going into the third period with a slim 3-2 lead, Exeter was looking to build their lead. Greer scored her third goal on the power play with 9:18 left in the game. Greer put in a rebound with assists going to Bravi and Alison Franklin '09.
Lisa Marshall '10 stopped 16 of 18 shots for Exeter as they improved to 11-5-1.

Exeter extended their winning streak to 4 games on Saturday as they defeated Berwick 9-4.  Six different players scored for Exeter with Kate Cunningham '09 scoring her first two goals of the season and Lily White '09 and Kiley Yeakel '08 each getting their first goals.
 Exeter started the scoring with 5 minutes left in the first period when Katie Sullivan '11, after receiving a pass from Rebecca Snelling '08, put the puck past the Berwick goalie from her knees. Cara Jankowski '11 finished the first period scoring when she put in her own rebound for the second goal. Cristina Bravi '10 was given the assist on the play. Exeter outshot Berwick 26 to 4 in the first period.
 The second period was an entertaining period as 10 goals were scored, seven for Exeter and three for Berwick. Cunningham had the first goal of the second period at 13:17 when she put in a rebound off of a shot from Sullivan. Sullivan then waited a mere 30 seconds to score the next goal and her second of the game. Cunningham and Keely Covo '08 were given assists on Sullivan's goal. Yeakel scored her goal just 40 seconds later with the assist going to Alison Franklin '09. White added Exeter's fourth goal of the second period with 10:44 left as she tipped in Covo's shot from the point. It was a Shannon O'Reilly '10 pass to Covo that made the goal possible.
 Berwick finally scored at 9:14 after 6 unanswered Exeter goals. But Cunningham lengthened the goal differential back to 6 just a few minutes later when she scored her second goal with the assist going to Lauren Greer '09. Then it was Berwick who responded right back with a goal one minute later on a 4 on 4. Exeter scored two goals within a minute of each other, Greer from Cunningham and Jankowski from Sullivan, late in the second period to increase their lead to seven. But another 4 on 4 Berwick goal with less than a minute to go in the period dropped Exeter's lead to six. The second period ended with a 9-3 score and Exeter outshooting Berwick 26 to 8.
 The third period was uneventful in comparison to the 10 goal second period as only one goal was scored. Berwick finished off the scoring early in the third period to give the game its final 9-4 score. Exeter had an astonishing 61 shots and Kat Pettengill stopped 14 shots in the win. Exeter is looking to continue the scoring as they welcome an extremely talented Tabor team on Wednesday.

Exeter bounced back well from their loss to Tabor as they defeated NMH 7-0 on Senior Day. Seniors Lydia Bolander and Emily Scharff particularly shined as Bolander posted her first shutout of the season and Scharff scored her first goal of the season.  After an "on ice" ceremony honoring Exeter's six seniors, the game started and Exeter jumped right into game mode. Lauren Greer '09 started out the scoring just 4 and a half minutes into the game when she put in the puck, with Cristina Bravi '10 receiving the assist. The first period ended with the 1-0 score.
 Exeter came out hard in the second period and put up 4 more tallies. The first came 20 seconds into the period when Katie Sullivan '11, after receiving a pass from Kate Cunningham '09, backhanded a puck into the top corner of the net. Cara Jankowski '11 hit the same corner just a minute later when she took a Sullivan pass and put it past the NMH goalie from the top of the circle. Cunningham added the third goal of the period 3 minutes later. After receiving a pass from Chelsea Brewer '10, Sullivan skated down on an almost breakaway and just before the goalie she drop-passed the puck to Cunningham who put it into the back of the net. Greer finished up the scoring in the second when with 48 second left she scored a power play goal. Greer stuffed in a rebound after shots from Bravi and Allison Franklin '09.
 Exeter added two more goals in the final period to give the game its 7-0 score. The first came at 11:54 when Bravi put the puck through the legs of the NMH goalie after getting a pass from Casey Waugh '10.  Scharff ended the game on a very high note with her power play goal coming with just 13 second left in the game. Rebecca Snelling '08 was given the assist on Scharff's goal. Bolander made many wonderful saves, including two breakaways, in the process of stopping all 23 shots she faced for the shutout.

Exeter won their second straight game as they defeated Hebron on the Lumberjack's own ice. It was the second time this season these two teams have met and this is also the second time Exeter has come away with the win. Hebron came to Exeter's rink to open up the season and Exeter blanked them 5-0. After a whole season under their belts, both teams played significantly better and the game was much closer. Lauren Greer '09 (2 goals and 2 assists) and Cristina Bravi '10 (2 goals and 1 assist) led the way for Exeter.
 Exeter jumped on top right from the start of the game with two first period goals. They started the scoring at 10:07 with a very nice power play goal. Greer took the faceoff in the defensive zone and won the puck back to Alison Franklin '09 who flipped the puck over the Hebron defense. Bravi, sprinting from the second the puck dropped, picked up the puck at the center circle and beat the Hebron goalie on a breakaway. Cara Jankowski '11 scored Exeter's second goal at 6:40 when she put the puck through the legs of the Hebron goalie from the top of the circle.
 Exeter scored two more goals in the second before Hebron was able to put up any goals. The first came just 45 seconds into the period when Greer scored during some chaos in front of the Hebron net. Exeter added their fourth goal two minutes later on the power play. Bravi put the puck in the net after receiving a very nice pass from Greer. It then was Hebron who scored three unanswered goals, one in the second and two in the third, to make the game 4-3 with 8 minutes left in the game.
  Greer gave Exeter a much needed cushion with 4:20 left in the game when she scored on a breakaway. Hebron made the game even closer when they scored a power play goal at 3:12 but Exeter managed to hold on for the win. Lisa Marshall '10, Kat Pettengill '09, and Lydia Bolander '08 all played a period and helped the team get the win.

Exeter dropped their last game of the season at rival Andover 2-0. This loss evened out the season series between the two schools to 1-1, with Exeter beating Andover at home by the same score on January 30.
 Playing in front of a full crowd, Exeter started the game off hard and put 3 shots on net within the first minute of the game. Unfortunately for Exeter, the rest of the period was controlled by Andover. Andover put 9 shots on Exeter goaltender Lisa Marshall '10 and were finally able to put one past her with 4:20 left in the period when a centering pass from the corner was knocked in from the chaos in front of the net. Exeter finished the period with 7 shots and went into the first intermission with a 1-0 deficit.
 Exeter controlled most of the second period, and outshot Andover 13 to 6 in the period but were unable to get the puck pass the Andover goalie. Andover scored their second goal with three minutes left in the period with a shot from the blue line. Exeter came out in the third needing to score at least two goals to send the game into overtime.  After they were unable to capitalize on a few good scoring chances early in the third, the score remained 2-0 with 2 and half minutes to go in the game when Exeter pulled Marshall for an extra skater. The extra skater proved an advantage for Exeter as their two best scoring chances of the game came in that last 2 minutes but Andover managed to hang on for the 2-0 win. Marshall finished the game with 25 saves.
Exeter finished off the season with a 14-8-1 record. The coaches and returning players would like to say thanks and good luck to their 6 seniors; Forwards Keely Covo, Emily Scharff, and Kiley Yeakel, Defensemen Madison Gilmore, and Rebecca Snelling, and Goaltender Lydia Bolander.
