Elizabeth Denis '06  Brown University
While lettering in soccer, hockey and tennis at PEA, Elizabeth also achieved high honors each term and highest honors her last three terms.  Her academic success included being the recipient of the Fiske Memorial Prize for excellence in Physical Sciences and an AP Scholar Award.

She was the leading scorer on the hockey team from 2002-2005.  In addition to her success at Exeter, she was also named Most Valuable Player for Team New England at Hockey Night in Boston (HNIB) in 2004 and earned “Outstanding Forward Recognition” at HNIB in 2005.  Elizabeth was also selected to take part in the U.S. National Development Camp for the 14/15 and 17/18 teams.  She played for Assabet Valley U19 which took a silver medal at the National Ice Hockey Championships in 2006.

Emily McNamara '03  Middlebury College
Emily was a member of the Exeter Girls Hockey team that won the New England Championship in 2000.  Emily went on to continue her success at Middlebury College where she majored in English.  She won two NCAA Championships and two NESCAC Championships. She was one of three captains of the Middlebury Championship team and was a two-time All NESCAC Team member and selected to the All NESCAC Academic team.  She played in every game during her four years, with her teams earning a combined record of 100-13-3.  Emily has been named the school’s new assistant women’s hockey coach.

Lindsey Glennon '02  Brown University
Lindsey was a four-year letter winner in soccer, hockey and lacrosse at Exeter.  Lindsey played a major role in Exeter’s New England Championship in 2000. At Exeter, she captained the hockey team her junior and senior year and earned All-Scholastic honors.  She was an honor roll student and was named Exeter’s Social Services volunteer of the month.  Lindsey won the “Goodwin Cup” (top female athlete) her senior year.

Heather Jackson '02  Princeton University
Heather was a four-year letter winner in hockey and soccer.  She co-captained her senior year in soccer and her junior and senior years in hockey.  She played varsity softball for three years.  Heather took part in the Washington Intern Program and worked for a congressman in D.C. from February to June of 2002.  At Princeton, Heather co-captained her junior and senior years in hockey, played for the US Under-22 National Team in the summer of 2004 and won the “unsung hero" award and Princeton’s own Patty Kazmaier Award.

Kerri  Sandars '01  Boston College
Kerri Sandars was a dominant player on the team when they won the 2000 New England Division I Championship.  She was named the MVP in 2000 and 2001 and elected captain in 2001.  In addition to playing at Exeter, she was also a member of the Chelmsford Lions State and National Championship team in 1998.  She participated in Olympic Development Camps from 1998-2001 in Lake Placid, N.Y.  “Before I came to Exeter, I spent a great deal of time devoted to my athletic endeavors on both public youth programs and traveling club teams.  After winning the National Championship with the Chelmsford Lions pee-wee girls team in 1998, I decided that preparatory school would be necessary if I wanted to continue my hockey career at the collegiate level.  It wasn't until I arrived at Exeter that I realized the immense opportunities that existed in other facets of my life, as well as ice hockey.  With the help of my surrounding teachers, coaches, counselors, and friends, I visibly grew as a person and received thorough preparation, not just for college, but for life.  It was a privilege to be a member of the first and only New England Championship Girls' Ice Hockey team but it was far more rewarding to attend such an amazing place.”

Lisa Davis '01   Boston College
In addition to lettering in hockey for her two years at Exeter, Lisa also received academic honors during her two years and high honors her last two terms.  She was a two-year starter for the hockey team, leading the team to its first NEPSAC championship title in 2000, earning the Tournament MVP honors and being named to the All-star team. Outside of Exeter, she took part in the U.S. National Development program during the summers of 1999, 2000, and 2001. She also played for the State-champion Duxbury team in 1999.

Lee Young '82   Hamilton College
Lee was a three-year lower who graduated in 1982.  She first attended the Academy as a day student from Kensington, and became a boarder in Amen when her family moved to South China, Maine.  She was a three-year member of the varsity ice hockey team, captain her senior year, and MVP both her junior and senior years.  Lee was also a three-year member of the varsity field hockey team, a member of the varsity track team her lower spring, and a two-year player and senior captain of the JV lacrosse team.

Lee went on to Hamilton College where she played field hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse all four years and was captain of all three her senior year.  She was selected as an All State player in field hockey, and was invited to play in the Senior All Star Ice Hockey game at Harvard.  The final minutes of her college ice hockey career were spent in the penalty box at Harvard.

She returned to Exeter in 1986 as an admissions officer and as the head coach of the girls' ice hockey team. In 2000, her 14th and final year as head coach, the team won the New England Championship.  Lee stepped away from coaching after her championship season to devote time to her two children.  She says, “now that my kids are older, I am delighted to be returning to the bench to assist Coach Pacific and to help get Exeter girls hockey back to the top in the prep school world.”
 
Deb Cunningham '78  University of New Hampshire
Deb came to Exeter as a prep in 1974.  She was a day student from Kingston, NH and was a member of the first girl’s ice hockey team.  She played four years and was the captain her upper and senior year.  Deb also played two years of varsity soccer and lacrosse.  In addition, she played two years on the Prep/Lower baseball team as the only girl.

Deb was recruited to UNH and played from 1978-1982 where she studied Exercise Science.  While she was at UNH, they were 76-1-1 and they won all three possible Eastern Athletic Intercollegiate Association for Women (EAIAW) Championship Titles.  In her senior year, she participated in the Senior All Star game at Providence College.  She returned to Phillips Exeter for the 1984-1985 season as a volunteer assistant coach.  Deb currently plays for the Rochester (NH) Angels and remains the membership coordinator of Friends of UNH Women’s Hockey.
