Four of last year's top seven runners returned: Thomas Leger and tri-captains Graham Keggi, JY Lee, and Ian Winthrop. Three others filled out the varsity squad: Brian Basham, Miles Richardson and Eyob Eyualem, who proved to be an extraordinary talent, winning every race he competed in and setting the course record at Deerfield. The JV squad was also incredibly deep, anchored by seniors Sean Beckett, Richie Hill and Greg Rives. The team showed its mettle by winning its first three meets by large margins. In a hard-fought race at Interschols, St. Paul's finished ahead of the Big Red by five points, though Exeter had the satisfaction of beating Andover, last year's defending champs.
