Football: 2007 Season Roundup

Exeter versus Andover on Homecoming weekend

Overall record: 5 – 3

With big wins over Avon Old Farms and Worcester Academy, the Big Red started off strong, led by Captains Julien Dumont, Eric Eberhart, Malcolm McClain and Eddie Williams. Offensively, Alex King threw 14 touchdown passes, nine to Malcolm McClain and five to senior, Jon Squires. The offensive line was anchored by Dumont and they led the way for Eric Bunker and Jon Stidd, who combined for over 1400 yards with Bunker scoring eight TDs and Stidd scoring three. Williams and Eberhart led the team in tackles and with BJ Lalonde, Nick Mancini, Ebenezer Gyasi and Sam Gardner, they helped hold opponents to less than 100 points on the season. The kicking game for the Big Red was also strong with King doing the punting, and the place-kicking done by one of the very best to play that position at Exeter, Matt Rawson. The squad had a strong season with other wins coming against Northfield Mount Hermon and Cushing.

Captains will be elected next September.
