Exeter Athletes Recognized in Fall 2007 Boston Globe Athletic Awards
Sunday, December 9, 2007
Now that the '07 fall athletic season has ended, it's time to congratulate a number of Phillips Exeter athletes who have been recognized by The Boston Globe for their outstanding performances.
In the words of the Globe, "They were the outstanding high school performers on fields, courses, and courts throughout Eastern Massachusetts this fall, some leading their teams to championships, all establishing standards of excellence and dedication."
The Globe gives its highest awards to the Players of the Year for a given sport in particular divisions; Exeter competes in the NEPSAC prep league. Eyob Eyualem '08 is Exeter's sole representative in this category. He won every cross-country dual meet in which he competed, earning school MVP honors among fall athletes. His personal best 15:36 at his home course sent him to the school’s Hall of Fame, and his NEPSTA championship earned him a course record.
The Globe also highlights additional athletes as All-Stars. Exeter has several players in this category:
