Boys Swimming and Diving: 2008 Season Roundup
Overall record: 4-4 in dual meets; placed 3rd at New England Championship meet.
The boys’ varsity swimming and diving team ended the season with a solid third place finish at the New England Championships. The medley relay team of Adam Lebovitz '10, Chris Slodden '08, Niall Janney '08 and Richard Falk-Wallace '08 earned automatic All-American status at this year's New England Championship meet with a time of 1:37.19.
Co-Captain Niall Janney broke the school record in the 200 yard Individual Medley with a time of 1:52.65. Janney followed that up by breaking the New England record in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 49.63.
The team rallied behind these performances and went on to score eighteen lifetime bests. Some of those were by Co-Captain Owen McAleer '08 in the 500 with a 4:58, Upper Alex Rafter in the 200 free with a 1:47, and Lower Parker Moody in the 500 with a 4:54.
The sprint relay team of Alex Ting '08, Chris Jones '08, Nathan Bu '09 and Chris Slodden went a season best of 1:29.65 to capture third place in New England.
In the final event of the evening, the Exeter 4x1 relay of Falk-Wallace, Lebovitz, Bu and Janney took home the silver medal with a career best time of 3:14.75.

The team would like to take a moment to recognize and honor legendary coach Roger Nekton. Coach Nekton is a model of commitment, class and excellence in teaching. He retires this year after coaching boys swimming and diving for 45 years, inspiring his athletes far beyond the pool.
