Boys Hockey: 2009 Season Roundup
Overall record: 28–5–2
Season highlights include:
- Two big wins over Cushing Academy
- A 6-1 win over Andover
- A 4-2 Quarter-final win over Belmont Hill at home
- A 3-2 Semi-final win over The Gunnery
- A trip to the NE Championship Final on March 9
The goaltending was superb: Max Fenkell rewrote the record book setting new records for Minutes, Shots, Saves, Goals Against, Goals Against AVG, and Save %. His save percentage is the highest in NE at .940.
On the scoring side of things: Dan Weiniger was the leading scorer in NE with 76 points (42 goals, 34 assists; the 42 goals ties a school record). Rounding out the top five scorers on the team were: Matt Hatch (18 goals, 52 assists), Nick Kondiles (23 goals, 38 assists), Tom Larkin (14 goals, 38 assists, which sets a new single season record in both categories, and he also has the most career points by a defenseman in school history with 82), and Jeff Reppucci (7 goals, 31 assists).
Forward Dan Weiniger and Defensman Tom Larkin were voted by opposing coaches to the NEPSHIA All League Team.
