Boys Tennis: 2009 Season Roundup

In action vs. St. John's on April 15, 2009

Although the boys tennis team finished the season with a disappointing record, there were a number of team and individual accomplishments of which to be proud.

Congratulations to James Ying and Stirling Hedderich, both of whom completed their fourth season on the Varsity A team.

All season Will Abisalih performed extremely well at the number one singles position. Many of his opponents were regionally or even nationally ranked, and he competed well against all of them.

The first doubles team of Stirling Hedderich and Dan Huang played a number of outstanding matches including an impressive win over the #1 doubles team from New England champion Loomis.

In the match against Thayer, Jon Chen fought back from a 0-5 deficit in the final set to clinch a 4 to 3 victory for the team. Even though the A team is losing their top four players, the prospects for next season look good as both the Varsity B and JV teams had solid seasons.

Next year's captain is Jon Chen.
