Boys Cross Country: 2006 Season Roundup

Sometimes in sports the best team does not win, for example when four of your top seven runners fall during the New England Championships. Coming in third in the New England's was a great accomplishment, but because of high expectations the team was a bit disappointed.  An impressive six boys made Hall of Fame times this year. Of particular note is Graham Keggi, who went through the season undefeated as an individual and was the heavy favorite to win the New England's. A bad twist of the ankle and an Achilles strain at the 3/4 mile mark limited him to a slow jog. Through great courage, Keggi still finished 15th.  Two other Big Red Runners were All-New England, as well – senior Chris Brennan and upper Ian Winthrop, who beat Andover's top runner on Saturday.  We are all very proud of this group and with our two top runners returning and our JV team winning the New England’s, Exeter is in great position to reclaim the Championship in 2007.
