Campus sustainability at Exeter is not a top-down exercise, but a shared endeavor that benefits from the energy and ideas of students, teachers, staff and trustees.
Overseeing our sustainability efforts is the Environmental Task Force (ETF), which is chaired by the assistant principal and the sustainability coordinator and composed of students, custodians, dining staff, faculty, and administrators. Their expertise and different perspectives on boarding school life help make the ETF a more effective agent for change.
A separate trustee ETF insures that sustainability is part of broader institutional policy.
Two clubs—Environmental Action Committee and Environmental Proctors—give students a leading role in helping Exeter promote sustainability and environmental concerns.
