During Alumni/ae Council Weekend, the road leading behind the athletic fields toward the Hill Bridge was officially renamed "Hammy's Way," in honor of H. Hamilton Bissell '29, who loved to travel that road visiting with Exeter athletes. One of those athletes was Hammy's granddaughter, Kate Bissell '95, who spoke at the dedication ceremony. Other speakers were Principal Ty Tingley and Hilary Coder, instructor in physical education. Kate and her father, Jack Bissell '58, unveiled a stone that reads, "Teacher, Mentor, Coach and Sportsman, a.k.a. 'Mr. Exeter.' "
