Biography

Growing up in El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Perriccio had big dreams of becoming a veterinarian. That’s all she ever wanted (other than playing her trumpet and riding her horse). After being accepted to the University of Texas at El Paso, she went to audition for the band, hoping to get a scholarship to help offset the cost of college. After she passed the audition, the trumpet professor asked her, “Music major, right?” “Yes!” (So much for original plans.)

After receiving her Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 1978, Mrs. Perriccio joined the United States Air Force as a musician, traveling all over the Northeast as well as Europe. While in graduate school at UNH, Mrs. Perriccio transferred to the Air National Guard, still serving as a musician. Master Sgt. Perriccio retired from the military in 2014.

Mrs. Perriccio has been teaching music since 1988, at the elementary, junior high, high school and college levels. She began teaching trumpet, euphonium and tuba at Phillips Exeter Academy in 2000.

Mrs. Perriccio resides in Greenland, New Hampshire, with her husband, Dennis (also a trumpet player). You can find her performing in orchestras, jazz bands and brass ensembles. To relax, she rides her horses, Katie and Koda.
