Erica Catherine Plouffe Lazure, 2009-10 Bennett Fellow
Erica Lazure studied journalism at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1997. She then studied English and creative writing at East Carolina University (ECU), where she received a master’s in 2006 before completing a Master of Fine Arts at Bennington College in 2008. She received the Liam Rector Scholarship in 2006 and the Brenda L. Smart Fiction Prize in 2008. She has published stories and poems in McSweeney’s Quarterly #29, Keyhole magazine, Raleigh News & Observer, and the North Carolina Literary Review.
