Music Library

Established in 1994, Phillips Exeter Academy's Music Library, located on the first floor of the Forrestal-Bowld Music Center, gives students, faculty and staff the opportunity to explore the literature of music in a convenient and comfortable setting. It also serves as a resource through which students may supplement and enrich their classroom experiences. The Library's collection currently exceeds 6500 items and consists of books, scores and sheet music representing a variety of musical traditions. Particularly well represented are works for solo piano, voice, and chamber music ensembles, as well as larger works from the choral and orchestral repertoire.

The Music Library is staffed by a music librarian, Andrew Gatto, and student workers who assist in the circulation of materials. Library facilities include five Macintosh workstations and an enclosed listening area for use by students, faculty and staff.

The Music Library regularly acquires new materials.  Patrons are welcome to suggest materials for the library to buy. They may also make use of the Music Research Guide.
