The silent film collection consists of more than 300 films from the early
days of the movie industry in the United States and Europe. Given to the
library by James H. Ottaway, Jr. ’55 and film collector Bown Adams, the
films are used for research as well as entertainment. The collection
features such classics as
The Kid, Intolerance, The General, The Man in
the Iron Mask, and
Tol’able David.
