The
Special Collections feature original manuscripts and type- scripts by a
number of authors. These include an unpublished play by Wilkie Collins, the
manuscript of Mutiny on the Bounty by Charles Nordhoff and James Hall,
and the manuscript of the play Tea and Sympathy by Robert Anderson ’35.
Of special note is the manuscript of A Separate Peace by John Knowles ’45,
with a complete set of the edited versions of the book.

The Library is privileged to be the recipient of the manuscripts of John
Irving ’61 as well. Manuscripts of Irving’s books are in the collection,
along with videos and recordings of interviews and copies of personal
correspondence.
