Wrestling: 2011 Season Roundup

Overall Record: 8-11

The wrestlers worked hard this winter and made steady progress. We had several close losses to top New England teams. The team was led by 4 strong seniors – Kyle Gaffney, Dylan Ryan, Elias Stern Rodriguez, and Theo Agbi. Those 4 combined for a 67-9 regular season individual match record. Lower Ricky Posner went 18-1 in the regular season.

The team placed 6th at the Class A tournament and 5th at the New England tournament. At the Class As, Theo Agbi placed 5th, Connor Bellows placed 4th, Kyle Gaffney and Elias Stern Rodriguez placed 3rd, Dylan Ryan was 2nd, and Ricky Posner was the champ.

The following week at the New Englands, the boys stepped up and wrestled even better against tougher competition. Theo Agbi was 5th, Elias Stern Rodriguez was 3rd, and Dylan Ryan, Kyle Gaffney, and Ricky Posner were all 2nd.

Kyle Gaffney, Dylan Ryan, and Theo Agbi were all top 12 at the National tournament.
