Seventy-five years ago, thanks to the generosity of philanthropist Edward Harkness and the vision of Principal Lewis Perry and a group of senior faculty members, Exeter embarked upon an educational experiment that would transform almost every aspect of school life and influence secondary school education throughout the country.
Beginning in September, the Academy will celebrate this historic Harkness milestone with a yearlong series of events, including lectures, exhibitions and visits from a distinguished group of Harkness Fellows, many of them alumni/ae, who will each spend several days on campus, attending classes, meeting with students and faculty and giving talks.
