Author and poet, Kevin King

EXETER, NH (May 11, 2007)—On Tuesday, May 22, at 7:00 p.m., author and recipient of the 2007 Fellowship in Poetry from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, Kevin King, will read from his poetry in the Phillips Exeter Academy Class of 1945 Library. Sponsored by the Friends of the Academy Library, the reading will be held in the Kaplanoff Periodicals Room, located on the ground floor. The library is located on Front Street. A reception will follow the reading. The reading is free and open to the public.

King’s poetry has appeared in many journals, including Ploughshares, Prairie Schooner and The Threepenny Review. He has received poetry awards from The Plum Review, The Hollins Critic and The Meredith Poetry Exchange, and was a finalist in fiction in both the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts competition and the Massachusetts Artists Foundation competition. He is also the author of the novel All the Stars Came Out That Night (Dutton, 2005). Presently he is teaching “The Beats” at Phillips Exeter Academy, and teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) at both Northern Essex Community College and New Hampshire Community Technical College.
