The Friends of the Academy Library will host six concerts in Rockefeller Hall this summer.
The first concert, entitled “The Viol in Conversation,” will feature pianist George Lopez with Rudolf Senn on viol and double bass, on Wednesday, June 27.
The second concert, on Thursday, July 5, will feature Bob Squires in “Invention and Convergence: An Evening of Solo Guitar.” (CANCELED)
On Wednesday, July 11, Julie Scolnik and Friends will perform works for flute, harp and viola by Debussy, Lieberman, Ibert, Bach, and Piazzolla.
The fourth concert, on Wednesday, July 18, will be “Some Enchanted Evening” with works for clarinet and piano performed by Christine Fell, clarinet, and Arlene Kies, piano.
On Wednesday, July 25, The New England Jazz Connection will present the fifth concert. Featured are Les Harris, drums, Chris Humphrey, vocals, Keala Kaumeheiwa, bass, and Ryan Parker, piano.
The final concert, on Wednesday, August 1, will be “Landmarks of Sonic Architecture: A piano duo recital featuring works by Johannes Brahms and Johann Sebastian Bach,” performed by Jung Mi Lee and Jon Sakata.
All six concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
