Exeter recognized Milton Heath Jr. ’45 with the 2014 John Phillips Award. Heath spent his entire career in public service, teaching for 51 years at the University of North Carolina’s School of Government where he also served as legal counsel to several North Carolina House and Senate committees and authored seminal laws on environmental protection and conservation.
