April 28, 2008
Academy evacuates students and faculty from classrooms in simulation exercise
3:40 p.m. – The drill has been successfully completed. Students are returning to their regularly scheduled activities.
3:10 p.m. – Exeter is currently running an emergency drill. PEA students and faculty are evacuating to safe locations on campus. They will return to classes as soon as the drill is completed. Exeter is taking this step to ensure that the school is prepared for any real-life situation that could require emergency procedures.
In the case of a real emergency, Exeter would communicate with students, faculty, staff and parents via voicemail, e-mail, text message and/or the campus exterior notification system. Exeter's website would present important information about the situation on campus as it progressed. The website would also provide information on how to remain in contact with the Academy in case of emergency.
