Exeter Youth Strings Performs National Anthem at New Hampshire Fisher Cats Memorial Day Baseball Game

Phillips Exeter Academy students and local youth members of Exeter Youth Strings, a string instrument instruction and performance club, made a premiere appearance at the Memorial Day New Hampshire Fisher Cats minor league baseball game in Manchester, NH. Since early April, club members Sahng-Ah Yoo, a 2011 graduate of PEA, and EYS founder and coordinator on violin; Raphael Chung, a lower (sophomore) on cello; and Laura Zawarski, a prep (freshman); Brian Kim, an upper (junior); and Conor, Tessa, Emma and Henry, all on violin, practiced diligently for this special event. With an almost cloudless sky and a slight, warm breeze, a large crowd stood and listened last month as EYS performed the national anthem in honor of all persons who died while serving in the U.S. military.
