In the Summer '12 Bulletin: Graduation Highlights and 5 Exonian Emergency Responders

August 1, 2012

Principal Tom Hassan says goodbye to the class of 2012 and reflects on how student preparation for life beyond Exeter has changed over the centuries. He also celebrates special milestones for the departing seniors, including the varsity football team's 4-year streak of wins over Andover, the Math Club team's perfect score at the MIT Math Tournament, and the Student Council's work to secure 24/7 Internet access for future classes. Pictures from the day round out the coverage.

For 5 alums, life after Exeter has ultimately meant bringing non sibi to the frontlines of disaster recovery. From an 85-year-old paramedic in Florida who was on the ground after Hurricane Katrina to an orthopedic specialist who treated victims of the Haiti earthquake—often without the proper tools or supplies—these Exonians discuss why they do what they do, and what it means to them.
