Sixteen Students Elected as Early Members to Cum Laude Society
Exeter, NH (October 7, 2008)—The Phillips Exeter Academy Chapter of the Cum Laude Society has recently elected 16 seniors as early members of the academic honor society. This year’s induction ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2008, with guest speaker Tucker Carrington, Director of the Innocence Project of Mississippi.
This year’s Cum Laude Society members are: Margaret Ayers, of Portland, ME; Dong-In Choi, of Foothill Ranch, CA; Scott Crouch, of Exeter, NH; Max de La Bruyere, of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Blake Gendron, of Greenland, NH; Qian Huang, of Tenafly, NJ; Laura Kelleher, of Brockton, MA; Ariana Marnicio, of Durham, NH; Isabel Newlin, of Oberlin, OH; Ariella Park, of Columbus, OH; Alden Quimby, of Lee, NH; David Rush, of Scarsdale, NY; Jeanette Wat, of Exeter, NH; Emma Watt, of Durham, NH; Andrew Weinstein, of Hampton, NH; and Margaret Wilson, of Rye, NY.
Cum Laude, modeled on the Phi Beta Kappa Society, comprises public high schools and incorporated secondary schools throughout the nation. Exeter’s chapter, the oldest in continuous existence, dates back to the founding of the society in 1907.
