Orchestral Concert

Exeter, NH (March 9, 2009)—On Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 7 p.m., the Phillips Exeter Academy Music Department will present its Orchestral Concert at Phillips Church, located on the corner of Tan Lane and Front Street. The concert is free and open to the public.

Three groups of student musicians will perform, including the Phillips Exeter Academy Symphonia, the Phillips Exeter Academy Chamber Orchestra, and the Phillips Exeter Academy Symphony Orchestra.

Symphonia will perform selections from major motion pictures, including composer John Williams’ “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,” and the “Theme from Schindler’s List” and James Horner’s “Titanic.” Symphonia is directed by Music Instructor Jae Hyeok Jang.

The Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Music Instructor and Department Chair, Rohan Smith, will perform Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 3 in E flat Major,” the first movement Eroica; and Bizet’s “Carmen” Suite No. 1.
