Students head for the bus and home
Ms. Jan Trueman helps student find her bus
Things get pretty quiet here at Exeter as the buses, cars and train pull away from the campus and the town, carrying faculty and students off for their two-week Spring Break. Everyone is ready for a little rest, a visit with family and friends, and perhaps a trip to a prospective college or university.
Buses, 11 in all, line Front Street and Exonians stream from every corner of the campus, pulling their bags behind them. Filled with Exonians, the buses travel to the airport in Manchester, NH; Logan Airport in Boston; and a new addition to the Spring Break fleet heads to New York City’s JFK Airport. This new service is a great help to some of our west coast and international students who are spared one takeoff and landing. Other buses travel down I-95 ending up in Manhattan, stopping along the way to unite students and waiting parents at designated spots.
Ms. Jan Trueman oversees this mass exodus and has done so for the past 10 years. In fact, she oversees all buses going anywhere. Exonians, past and present, know that the sound of her strong voice urging students onto a bus means one thing: Road Trip!
