In the Beginning...
Once Upon a Universe
Petra D. Pacaric, Mezzo-Soprano
Mezzo-Soprano, Petra Pacaric, has performed throughout New England as a recitalist and soloist with companies such as the New England Light Opera, Granite State Opera, Longwood Opera, the Metrowest Symphony, Nashua Symphony, and the Westford Chorale. Her appearances include Mozart’s C Minor Mass, Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus, and the Brahms’ Liebesliederwalzer for four voices. Performed operatic roles include Charlotte (Werther), Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte), Angelina (Cenerentola), Carmen (Carmen), Oktavian (Der Rosenkavalier), and Prince Orlovsky (Die Fledermaus). She also performed extensively with the Boston Symphony Orchestra as a member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus at Boston Symphony Hall, Tanglewood, and Carnegie Hall.
Ms. Pacaric specializes in repertoire by German, French and Spanish Composers of the 19th and 20th centuries as well as in the genre of Cabaret music featuring composers including Kurt Weill, Erik Satie, and Astor Piazzolla. Most recently, Ms. Pacaric was a featured guest at Portsmouth Community Radio’s Opera Program for the Metropolitan Opera Broadcast edition of “Thais” and “Die Fledermaus."
Originally from Austria, Ms. Pacaric studied vocal performance at the Landeskonservatorium Innsbruck and foreign languages at the University of Innsbruck with additional studies at the Conservatorio de Granada (Spain), McMaster University (Canada), and France. Ms. Pacaric is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory and has been living in New England for the last ten years. Currently she maintains an active voice studio at Phillips Exeter Academy and Musical Arts in Exeter.
