Louise Breen '10 Moves on to Finals at World Rowing Junior Championships in France

Today at Brive-la-Gaillarde, the U.S. Junior Women's eight boat excelled, coming in first in the qualifying heat against Germany and New Zealand. The U.S. boat crossed the finish line in 6:35:75, a 2.93-second lead. The U.S. time also bested the 4 boats in the other JW8+ qualifying heat – France, Hungary, Romania and Russia. Romania placed first in the 4-team heat with a time of 6:42:90.
The U.S. JW8+ boat, with Louise Breen '10 on crew, now moves directly to the finals on Saturday August 8th. They will race against Romania and winners of tomorrow's repechage contests.
