4:00 PM

Class of 1945 Library

To kick off the year-long celebration of 75 years of Harkness, we will have a conversation about teaching in the classroom at Exeter and what Harkness has meant to that experience.

The discussion will be moderated by Rick Schubart '56, '79 (Hon.), Bates-Russell Distinguished Professor and chair of the 75th Harkness Anniversary committee. Participating in the conversation will be alumni/ae who are currently teaching at the Academy. Representing more than a forty-year span of classes, participants represent a variety of disciplines: both Classical and Modern Languages (Jeeyoung Choi '02 and Nick Unger '90), Drama (Sarah Ream '75), English (Peter Greer '58 and Sarah Ream '75), History (Andy Hertig '57 and Leah Merrill '93) and Music (Alysoun Kegel '99).

In addition, a number of alumni/ae who are either emeriti/ae faculty or current staff members will be present.

A tea will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15th in the Mark D. Kaplanoff ’66 Periodicals Room in the Class of 1945 Library, followed by the conversation in Rockefeller Hall from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
