Parents' weekend is a time for parents of Exeter students to experience campus life firsthand. It's a time to meet with faculty, experience a Harkness classroom, talk to your child's adviser and even try out the dining hall food.

Here are some of this weekend's highlights:

  • Learn what Harkness is all about – join in classroom-style discussions with faculty and other parents, and hear presentations from faculty. Topics will include: "What Computers Can and Cannot Do Well", "Rethinking History for the 21st Century", "How We Teach Math at Exeter", "Experiencing the Language of Art", "Writing at Exeter". You'll also have the chance to learn about Exeter's many programs abroad.
  • Watch student theatrical productions – come see student ensembles perform Shakespeare and more.
  • Meet college counselors  –  attend an open house or listen to speakers on the topic of selecting and applying to college.
  • Attend open rehearsals of student ensembles and orchestras – you can choose from the Concert Choir, Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, Glee Club and Women's Chorus, or listen to them all.
  • Observe the stars at Grainger Observatory – Friday nights at Grainger are a tradition; be part of it this weekend, weather permitting.
  • Take a guided tour of the Class of 1945 Library – learn about the history of the award-winning library, and the history of the school.
  • Feed your non-sibi urge with hunger relief activities – participate in one or more of the five student-sponsored service initiatives aimed at fighting hunger.

And there's lots more, including self-guided tours of the Phelps Academy Center, visits to the Lamont Gallery and even activities for younger siblings.
