Health Care & Counseling

Exeter’s recently renovated Lamont Health & Wellness Center provides health care and counseling services for students right on campus. The center is open daily for walk-ins and scheduled appointments. Registered nurses are on duty day and night. Physicians and counselors are on-call for emergencies 24/7. The center houses 14 beds for students requiring overnight care.

Medical Care

Students can meet with medical staff as frequently as they want to discuss any questions or concerns they may have. Our registered dietician and dining staff can provide dietary and nutritional guidance.

You’ll find people ready to help with routine and emergency care, including:

  • Allergy management
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Immunizations
  • Sports injuries and prevention
  • Sexuality and sexual health
  • Counseling and psychological services

Our 9,000-square-foot fitness center incorporates state-of-the-art equipment in a light, airy space.

Our health and wellness staff includes a board-certified pediatrician, certified physician assistant, registered nurses, a registered dieticianlicensed mental health professionals and certified athletic trainers.

Counseling

Our licensed mental health professionals work with students on a confidential basis around a variety of issues and concerns, including:

  • Adjustment and homesickness
  • Stress management
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Grief and loss
  • Eating
  • Substance use
  • Sexuality
  • Relationships
  • Family issues

Students can meet one-on-one with counselors on a regular basis. All counseling services are free for students.

Counselors offer small group workshops in anxiety reduction, stress management and other topics relevant to teen development. These are open to all interested students.

Psychiatric services are offered on campus through an arrangement with a community psychiatrist. There is a charge for these appointments.

Counselors are on-call for emergencies 24/7.
