Sporting
Archery Club
The archery club is devoted to practicing the sport of target archery in its many forms. From long bows to compound and Olympic recurve bows, we get to try them all. The focus of the club is to help new comers and those with an archery background to improve their form. Instruction is provided for introductory through advanced archers. Competitions with other schools and institutions are planned Adviser: Mr. Blackwell
Fencing Club
The Fencing Club meets twice a week to provide instruction and informal bouting for all levels of fencers. No previous experience is needed and equipment will be provided. The club teaches all three blades: foil, epee, and sabre. Members sometimes compete in U.S.F.A. competitions and qualifying events held in Boston and northern New England. Adviser: Mr. Langford
Indoor Soccer Club
After the fall soccer season ends, an informal group of students meets weekly in the gym to play soccer. For the third consecutive year that Club has also formed a team that plays a competitive schedule at a local indoor soccer facility. In the 2004 season, the mixed team won the Rising Star (Bedford, NH) Mixed Open Division Championship, and last year’s team finished in the middle of the more competitive Men’s Open Division at the Seacoast United Soccer Arena. The team will be returning to Seacoast United’s Men’s Open Division this year, and there are high hopes of improving on last year’s finishing position. Funding is provided by the players. Adviser: Mr. Farnham
The Juggling And Unicycling Club
The Juggling and Unicycling Club provides a weekly meeting place for interested students to gather. The club happily teaches students who have never tried juggling or unicycling, and the skill levels of the members are very diverse. Students ride unicycles, and juggle everything from 3 pins to 4 balls. Adviser: Mrs. Geary
Martial Arts Club
The Martial Arts Club provides an environment for existing martial artists to train and to teach newcomers self-defense and martial arts. We hold weekly meetings and go to a tournament in the spring. Adviser: Ms. Merrill
Outing Club
The Outing Club offers students and faculty the opportunity to get off campus for a variety of outdoor excursions. Hiking in the White Mountains, canoeing on rivers and in bays, and rock climbing are among the activities sponsored by the club. In the winter, we snowshoe, cross-country and telemark ski, and ice climb. All students may sign up for trips. Adviser: Mr. Mallinson
Scuba Club
Scuba Club provides an opportunity for students to become certified divers. The certification process usually consists of 5 class room sessions, 5 pool sessions, and 5 open water sessions. The club also provides an opportunity for students who are already certified to attend dive trips with their friends. Mr. Lynch
Ski And Snowboard Club
The Ski and Snowboard Club is designed to enable students to ski and snowboard during their stint at PEA. All will be welcomed to participate in the events sponsored by this club, regardless of one's ability. It is expected that all who belong to this club will respect each other's ability and it is encouraged that the more advanced skiers and snowboarders assist and support those of lesser ability-for there is nothing more honorable than being a teacher. Adviser: Ms. McGahie
Exeter Surf Club (ESC)
The purpose of the Exeter Surf Club is to promote and further the sport of surfing. Our activities consist of showing films and taking trips to the local beaches where conditions range from knee-high (easy) to overhead (moderately difficult). As a group we tweak the skills of our more experienced surfers and educate beginners during our multiple outings in the Fall and Spring. The Surf Club provides all the necessary equipment and transportation. Adviser: Mr. Miller
Table-Tennis Club
Practices will be held regularly with a coach. Members can have access to new tables and new paddles, purchased in 2001. Moreover, tournaments within the school and against other schools will be held throughout the year. Adviser: Mr. Chan
