Intoxicated Movement
Intoxicated Movement or ITXC is the only breakdancing club that has ever existed in Exeter history. ITXC was established in 2003 under J Moon and Larry Seo. Breakdancing is not only spinning on your head, it incorporates many different dance styles such as yoga, hiphop, poppin and house. This group serves as a link for everyone to associate with each other under one interest; dancing. ITXC performs about 7 times a year including battles and performances in assembly. Anyone including those who had absolutely no experience on breakdancing can join, there are no cuts. ITXC will go to Boston and New York every term to experience a outside school breakdancing scene. Lionettes
Lionettes is the Exeter Dance Team. They perform at half-time at football and basketball games as well as pep rallies and dance Assembly. They are not to be confused with cheerleaders, however. Choreography is all done by the captains and team members. Auditions are open to everyone but previous experience with hip hop and/or funk is expected. Adviser: Ms. Luca

Outkast
Outkast is Exeter's first and only all male stepping and hip-hop dance group. It is made up of males from every grade and promotes strength through movement. Outkast was formed in the Fall of 1998, because no formal group existed that allowed guys to participate. It was also the first group to formally introduce "stepping," the art of clapping and stomping in a synchronized pattern, to the Academy. The group performs multiple times a year at various on and off campus functions like dance Assemblies and concert, pep rallies, MLK Day celebration, regional competitions and talent showcases. Auditions are open to all males who are interested and no experience is necessary. The group generally practices twice a week.

Precision Step Team
Formed in the spring of 1999, this performing group is comprised of young women of all grades interested in learning, promoting, and performing the African tradition of "stepping." A centuries-old tradition, stepping is part of ritual and celebration in many countries in Africa. Stepping consists primarily of exact moves utilizing precise sounds (clapping, stomping, and slapping) to create a unique rhythm. The art form was brought to the United States in the 60s through Historically Black Fraternities and Sororities, who incorporated step in their college campus performances. Precision performs several times a year (MLK Day celebration, local talent shows, dance assemblies and concert, and regional competitions). In the future, Precision plans to continue to hold an annual Step Show on campus, as well as travel to schools in the Boston area to promote their talent. No experience is necessary, but some skill in movements is required. Auditions are held at the end of fall term and practices are generally twice weekly. Adviser: Ms. Trotter

Rhythmics
Rhythmics is a group dedicated to performing crisp, innovative tap dances. Members are selected by audition in early fall. Love of dance and some previous tap dance training required. Rehearsals are weekly. Adviser: Ms. Luca

Rince n'Cara
Rince n'Cara is the Academy's Irish step-dancing group. We perform several times each year, and also promote Irish step-dancing by hosting group dances for people with any level of Irish dance experience. We also provide students interested in starting or continuing to learn step-dancing with the names and class times of dance instructors in the Exeter area. Adviser: Ms. Cahalane
