Weekend Programming

The Associate Director of Student Activities works closely with the S.W.A.T. team (Student Weekend Activities Team) to program events on Saturday nights and Friday nights if there are no Saturday classes.  Events can be sponsored by Dorms, Clubs, Classes, Individual Students or the Student Activities Department.  Events occurring at other times of the week are not coordinated by Student Activities, though the department is always available as a resource to those planning non-weekend events.

Types of Events
On the weekends students enjoy dances, comedians, hypnotists, magicians, bands, coffee house acts, a cappella groups, casino nights, ski trips, plays and performances in Boston, trips to the mall and trips to flea markets as well as a variety of student performances.

S.W.A.T. Team
The S.W.A.T. Team (Student Weekend Activities Team) meets weekly with the Associate Director of Student Activities to discuss all relevant programming issues.  S.W.A.T. collaborates with Student Council Recreation Committee and other interested parties.  They help select acts that will come to campus as well as suggest ways to improve and add to the event calendar.  The Team adds new members at the end of each Winter Term.  If you are interested in finding out more about the Team or becoming a member, please contact Ms McGahie.

The Pledge
We the people of S.W.A.T will strive to create a more perfect weekend and do solemnly swear to unite the community with fun and entertainment for all.
