In this course students consider human impact on the environment.

In this course students consider human impact on the environment. Issues of human population, demography and carrying capacity will be explored in relationship to the world's food resources and urban land use and management. Some of the consequences of the most basic decisions we make as humans - how many babies should we have, what do we eat, and where do we live? - will be considered. The legal, ethical, economic and political aspects of these topics will be an integral part of the course. Lab work, as well as the completion of a local service-learning project, will be required.
