Biography

Mr. Moore joins the College Counseling Office after working as a senior assistant dean of admissions at Bowdoin College. As a member of the Bowdoin College Office of Admissions, he worked with students from high schools in the greater Philadelphia area and most of New England, including Phillips Exeter Academy. Mr. Moore is originally from southern Maine and enjoyed sharing the values and opportunities of his home state with students from the territories he was responsible for, as well as students from all over the world. Mr. Moore trained and supervised a group of Bowdoin students who worked as senior interviewers; their conversations with prospective students were included in applications for admission.

Before his time at Bowdoin, Mr. Moore worked as an assistant director of college counseling at Bridgton Academy and as an associate director of admission at Endicott College. At Bridgton Academy, Mr. Moore lived on campus as a dorm parent, chaperoned off-campus trips, proctored the SAT and supported postgraduate students through the college application process. At Endicott, he gained a well-rounded awareness of the admission process while progressing from student tour guide to graduate assistant. He earned his MBA before becoming a full-time employee in the Office of Admission.

Mr. Moore has developed an extensive perspective on the inner workings of college admissions while also bringing a familiarity with independent, secondary school community life. He has worked with students with a range of experiences and backgrounds, including international, first-generation and underrepresented students.

Mr. Moore is a self-proclaimed foodie with a large list of restaurant recommendations from across the country. He is a passionate sports fan (Boston teams especially), enjoys traveling, listening to music/podcasts and believes pineapple is a perfectly acceptable pizza topping.
