Ms. Thompson-Taylor joined the College Counseling Office in 2014 with an extensive background in higher education and has spent most of her career teaching and counseling students. She worked at the University of Rochester for nearly a decade in the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid and, most recently, in the Office of the Dean of Students as the inaugural director of the Intercultural Center. In this leadership role, she coordinated diversity and multicultural efforts across the institution and served on several committees addressing topics related to race, ethnicity, gender and other cultural markers. She has presented workshops on a variety of topics related to college admissions and intercultural awareness, and is a member of NACAC and NEACAC.

A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Ms. Thompson-Taylor received her B.A. in linguistics and management studies (second-class honors) from the University of the West Indies, and her M.S. in strategic leadership from Roberts Wesleyan College. She has been a longtime community volunteer with the American Red Cross Next Generation Leaders Program and the American Diabetes Association, and is a founding member of the Rochester Jamaican Organization.

Ms. Thompson-Taylor enjoys reading, exercising, listening to music and playing board games. She lives with her family off campus in Exeter.
